After many years of working for others I’ve finally found the confidence and strength to go it alone.
That and the fact that I make a rubbish employee. No really, I do. Having struggled for many years with chronic back pain, I’ve learnt that my best work may not necessarily happen between 8.30am and 5pm. And it may not necessarily happen sitting in a fluorescently lit cubicle surrounded by 30 other people who probably don’t do their best work in that environment either.
So armed with bags of enthusiasm, and a very supportive hubby, I decided to create Square Pegs with a view to provide charities and not-for-profit organisations with an opportunity to generate income, build partnerships and reach their potential – with a little help from me of course.
And now for the fun facts. I’m a patriotic Kiwi who was born in the UK and now lives in Queensland, Australia. I started dance at the age of four and have loved it ever since. My first job was in a circus but injuries soon saw me move in to the corporate world of marketing and business development. After years in both the HR and Logistics industries I made the move across to the Third Sector and here I found a passion for raising profiles, funds and building engagement. I also love to travel, watch sport (especially my beloved NZ Warriors) and enjoy good food and wine.
